Digital printing offers high quality results and endless possibilities. Suitable not only for traditional color separations, our computer-driven inkjet printers can also be used to print non-separated color images on heat transfer paper or direct printed on a variety of fabrics, including organic fabrics and cotton. The heat transfer paper can then be viewed independently or transferred to fabric. Our high resolution images produce bright eye-popping colors superior to many other digital printing technologies.

In addition to sampling prior to rotary screen printing, digital inkjet printing also makes short-run production feasible by omitting the expense of engraving screens. This process offers great versatility and can be used to print traditional all-over repeats. We also can supply your needs to produce a few dozen or a few hundred pieces. In order to increase efficiency and production needs, our digital process combined with our transfer capability can provide you with finished garment pieces ready for the cutting table in products such as sports jerseys.

Flags, banners, soft signage, photo images, backdrops, pet products and novelty items that would have been cost prohibitive in small runs are now possible with digital printing.

Sending Digital Images to Hampton...

It’s easy and fast to upload files for digital printing at Hampton Textile Printing. Digital samples can be printed without the cost and delay of having screens engraved. If you don’t have the capability of preparing digital inkjet files, our technical department here at Hampton can complete your artwork and prepare it for printing.

Digital printing is ideal when the project’s budget does not support screen engraving expenses. When a project will never need screens engraved, you can print literally millions of colors. Tonal images, watercolor effects, even photographs are not a problem.

For instructions for uploading digital files to Hampton, email our Information Systems department at either of the addresses at the bottom of the page to receive a user name and password plus step-by-step instructions for logging on to our web page to upload the files.

File formats accepted for all applications:

• Indexed tiffs – file extension is .tif and image mode is Indexed Color. For images that will be engraved, use no more than 16 colors. For “digital only” files, up to 100 colors may be separated.
• Grayscale tiffs – a separate file for each color separation. The file extension is .tif and the image mode is grayscale. These files should be black and white. The colors will be shaded according to your specifications.

File formats accepted for “digital only” printing:

• Rasterized files:

• Indexed tiffs – see description above.
• Grayscale tiffs – see description above.
• Other tiffs – Image mode may be RGB, Lab, CMYK. Please embed ICC profile.
• High resolution jpegs. Jpegs are a “lossy” compression format and it is NOT recommended you save your files as jpegs. However, if you have very high resolution jpegs we can convert them to the type of file we need.
• A resolution of 254 pixels/inch or 100 pixels/cm is recommended for art files. For photographic files or images that will be scaled up, higher resolution may be needed.
• Vector files – please embed ICC profile
• .pdf
• .ai – Adobe Illustrator.
• .eps – encapsulated postscript
